The year has come to an end and I have had much to reflect on. Time. Yes, I’ve had so much time this year. More time than I’ve ever had within the last 5 years or more. This is both a good thing and a bad thing. I have been dreaming in empty spaces. I have spent much time in solitude and constant reflection of the self. I sometimes feel like that nomad that is destined to wander and never quite find her true way. Because I feel like I belong everywhere but nowhere at the same time.
I’m sure you’ve all noticed that I had to switch domain host sites. nicomichelle.com is no longer active, and I was only able to export my two years of content from Squarespace here to WordPress, hence why I am currently on here for now.
I apologize if some of the photos are now missing on some blog posts. Trust me, I’m pretty sad about the whole ordeal, but that’s life. Let’s just say this year was really not easy, and almost everything that could have gone wrong, did. I will try to post here when I can, but it may not be very often. Thank you to everyone who has supported me from the beginning and have been following me on my journey the last several years.
I am wearing my new American Apparel velvet dress in these photos. My new favorite Christmas dress. When I was a kid in the 90’s I had a bright red velvet dress. I loved the shit out of that dress. I guess you can say this deeper red is my grown-up version now. Quite fitting.
It’s been quite a year. I’m honestly ready for it to be over. What I’m most grateful for about this year, however, are all the new friends I made with people from various states and different parts of the world. I also formed a few stronger female alliances and learned to trust in female friendships again. I unfortunately have had to deal with a lot of bitchy women for most of my life, pushing me away or acting catty towards me, so this is why I am so happy that I have been able to surround myself with strong, beautiful, and loving women that are capable of embracing me as their friend rather than labeling me as just another woman to “compete,” with.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a safe New Year.
